Launching Chargrill Charlie’s Bondi

GIVING NEW LIFE TO AN OLD SCHOOL CONCEPT.

Opening any new Chargrill Charlie’s is always epic (this was our fourth), but Bondi was always going to be special. Positioned as the new flagship store, Bondi would have a retro vibe referencing the beachside milk bars of the 1950s. We designed in-store art, merchandise and signage to create that aligned to the fresh direction. Coupled with a fit out that used recycled hardwood, light fittings that echoed those attached to surf clubs in years gone by, and an actual milk bar, magic was made.

The more open layout invites a more indoor/outdoor dining experience. A special window on Gould St serves $2 soft serves, milkshakes and whipped spiders - perfect for kids coming up in wet swimmers. Some of our favourite special aspects of the store include a designated pooch parking spot, a newspaper rack and a central Charlie icon branded into the cafe tables.

The venue is located on the corner of Curlewis and Gould Street. Pop down and have a look at our handiwork!
